Presentation of the poster, the programme of events and the stars of the show.

SUNDAY, 15 JUNE

3rd DAY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: “GEGANTS AND CORPUS CHRISTI: A STORIED HISTORY”

Folklorist and writer Amadeu Carbó, who has conducted extensive research and published numerous works on folklore and Corpus Christi, will tell us about the history of the connection between gegants (traditional giant figures) and this festival, highlighting the unique elements of Corpus Christi in Sitges. There will then be an explanation of the evolution of the city’s “old” and “new” giants, and their role in Sitges’s Corpus Christi festivities.

PRESENTATION OF THE REVAMPED “NEW” CITY GIANTS FOR THEIR 50^TH ANNIVERSARY

The “new” Gegants de la Vila are celebrating the 50^th anniversary of their Corpus Christi debut. As they did back then, they will make their appearance in Plaça de l’Ajuntament. Revamped and decked out in new costumes, they will be accompanied by the “old” Gegants de la Vila to perform a few dances together.

FRIDAY, 20 JUNE

OPENING EVENT FOR THE 85th NATIONAL CARNATION EXHIBITION

The gardens of Hospital Sant Joan Baptista de Sitges will host the opening of the National Carnation Exhibition. The event will be topped off with a glass of malvasia wine and an opportunity to admire the carnations featured in the exhibition.

OPENING SPEECH (PREGÓ) FOR THE CARNATION EXHIBITION

This year’s special opening speaker (pregonera) will be Roser Forgas i Sampedro, who is also the pregonera for Corpus Christi 2025.

CORPUS CHRISTI WORKSHOP FOR FAMILIES. FLOWERS AND ART IN MUSEUMS

In this workshop, we’ll use blank canvasses to grow colourful artistic flowers that will be displayed in Racó de la Calma.

Free activity. Advance registration not required.

EVENING VIGIL MASS

Following the celebrations, the Blessed Sacrament will be taken to its chapel for a solemn display. Eucharistic prayer vigil.

FLOWERS, TRADITION AND CELEBRATION, GUIDED TOUR OF THE CARPETS AND OTHER CORPUS CHRISTI SPACES

Led by AGIS Guies de Sitges. Following the tour, participants will have opportunity to help make a flower carpet. At 10 p.m., leaving from the Societat Recreativa el Retiro garden gate.

PAINTING OF CARPET DESIGNS ON CITY STREETS AND CUTTING OF CARNATIONS

The creators of each carpet will paint their drawings on the ground. At the same time, the flowers for the carpet will be cut and prepared. Everyone is welcome to join in!

FLOWER CARPET CREATION ON SEVERAL CITY STREETS

Open to all.

HOT CHOCOLATE AND CHILDREN’S ACTIVITY: SUPER BUBBLES

After the carpets are finished, all the children who helped create them can enjoy hot chocolate and have fun making giant soap bubbles in the Super Bubbles activity.

SOLEMNITY OF THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST (CORPUS CHRISTI)

Corpus Christi Eucharist:

At 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. (in Spanish) and 12:30 p.m. at the Església de Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla. At 11 a.m. at the Església de Sant Joan Baptista.

At the Església de Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla, solemn exhibition of the monstrance in the Capella del Santíssim Sagrament from 10 a.m. until the end of the Eucharist at 12:30 p.m. for prayer and adoration.

CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION WITH THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

The Penó de la Minerva (Minerva Banner) will be carried by Ms Montserrat Mirabent Baqués, accompanied by Xavier Vinyals Mirabent and Sara Vinyals Mirabent as cordonistes (cord holders).

FINAL DANCE AND REFRESC DE CORPUS

After the procession, the four pairs of gegants will accompany the authorities to City Hall for the traditional final gegant dance in the square.

Afterwards, Sitges City Council will offer the traditional “Refresc de Corpus” refreshments, open to all.

EXHIBITION OF THE 9th CORPUS CHRISTI INSTAGRAM PHOTO CONTEST

OPENING: 7 p.m. at Janio’s Bar. Plaça del Cap de la Vila, 3

EXHIBITION DATES: From 27 June to 27 July. Prizes will be awarded during the Corpus Christi 2025 closing event.

SATURDAY, 28 JUNE

VISIT FROM THE PANEL OF THE 43rd FAÇADE, BALCONY AND WINDOW CONTEST

Starting at 11 a.m.

The panel members, with musical accompaniment by Apocadixie, will assess participating façades, balconies and windows in the streets of central Sitges. Their decision will be announced during the Corpus Christi 2025 closing event.

PRESENTATION OF THE “JOC DE LES FESTES DE SITGES” BOARD GAME

Public event where the first board game about Sitges festivities will be presented and available for purchase. The JOC DE LES FESTES DE SITGES is your chance to test your knowledge of Corpus Christi, Carnival and the city’s festa major, or main annual festival. Learn about our traditions, discover fun facts and enjoy the game!

SUNDAY, 29 JUNE

OFFICIAL PRIZE CEREMONY AND CLOSING EVENT FOR CORPUS CHRISTI 2025

Following the closing event, there will be a gathering at Santuari de Nostra Senyora del Vinyet for the traditional collective offering of carnations to the Virgin. The mini-train will take participants to Vinyet as they enjoy music by Apocadixie.
